The intermingling of children between the cultures is no lie. My grandmother was a Pace. We trace our lineage directly to Richard and Isabella Pace, who arrived at Jamestown in 1620. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Pace_(Jamestown)
One night an Indian boy, that treated like their own child, Chanco, told them of an imminent attack on the settlement. Richard rowed across the river that night to warn the fort, which was able to prepare. But in the attack the next day, about 329 settlers in the surrounding area were slaughtered.
