Mayor Michael P. Cahill, in a statement shared on Facebook Tuesday afternoon, said that while much work is already being done to build a welcoming, supportive community for all, the actions that took place in Beverly Farms over the weekend highlighted there are still many more miles to travel.
We all understand that this years Beverly Farms 4th of July parade was rightly cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns, he shared. Even so, a group held their own parade. In doing so, some groups crossed the line of decency and basic kindness. One group displayed a sign targeting two private individuals and by extension their families with a message of hate. Another group displayed a racist sign that sought to scapegoat an entire group of people.
Cahill also shared that the parade committee had sent out an email endorsing and celebrating those actions, further highlighting the racist attack by posting a picture of the sign in the email.
This is all completely wrong and unacceptable, and things have to change, he continued. We cannot watch this overt bullying and racism and be silent. Beverly is a great community, and we all have work to do still. Condemning these actions is part of this work.

If the communists win, every "horrible" in these photos will get first boarding privilege for the special whiteness-train boxcars...
“Horribles” parades are a Mass. tradition. They are a take off on the antique car parades. The ones I’ve seen include beat-up, falling apart cars with broken mufflers that race their engines, often until they blow.
They are the opposite of a parade with decorative floats.
In all the councilor’s comments and the comments to her on Facebook, neither her nor her supporters lay any facts to their collective claim as to what they say was racist or abusive, to anyone. Typical Libs - a claim without evidence is all you need and the Libe sheeple will genuflect and believe your claim.
