That little speck protruding above the Pacific?

There is a huge volcanoe below the surface, extending to what used to be normal ocean depth of that area of the Pacific.

One may not want step there for several centuries...after it goes dormant.

Oh. The volcano is mostly underwater.
That makes more sense that it would continue to pool and gather in one spot.
