Right now in our county, the numbers of deaths are up quite a bit over a 3 year average. Admittedly, in our county there were a couple of nursing homes that got slammed. (Western Massachusetts.)
Overall, testing right now is high and the % of positives to tests is about 1%.
Yesterday my former employer, a local hospital, declared that they are covid free for the first time since mid-march.
Last week I heard interviews with the mayors of Houston and Miami. In Houston he said a while ago when people were tested 1 in 10 was positive, but now it was 1 in 4. In Miami the mayor said it had been about 8% but now was over 20% testing positive. Regarding worldometers statistics, remember it takes a day or two for the death statistics to be fully reported after the weekend. Today, over 800 deaths were reported for over 133,000 dead.
