Only American slavery is awful. What about the truly massive number of white slaves captured annually by Tartars raiding into the Ukraine, Poland and Russia as well as the massive maritime slave raiding by the Turks throughout the Mediterranean and as far away as Iceland. That is a ‘historical phenomenon’ only American slavery (of blacks, not the large number of Scots and Irish and Welsh bought by the boatload for the West Indies and the US colonies.) is aawful.
