Having done graduate-level research on this topic, I can’t agree with your statement. A wide variety of factors are at play in contested custody suits, many of them completely outside the control of the contending parents— divorce has become an industry for the lawyers, accountants, therapists and other so-called “experts.”

The more complex society and male/female issues have become, the more ways lawyers can exploit the situation for their own profit, the parents and children be damned.

Divorce is a no-win situation to begin with; but the adversarial legal system profits the most by trying to manufacture winners and losers between the parents. Bottom line, it’s the children who lose the most in divorce.

So , suspend judgment of community members of either sex who have lost custody, until you know more about them. Many are undeserving of the social condemnation they receive.
