Great composer. They could have picked a much better movie to associate his name with. Hateful Eight was satanic.

Brilliant composer who captured the essence of the movies on which he worked - and often elevated them.
RIP.

I hate it when these news headlines reduces a lifetime of achievements down to a recent hit or piece. Ennio is a giant among all time and has so many great musical pieces that he should be headline as a great that died

The man with the harmonica by Morricone is pretty good.

Between him, Elmer Bernstein and Lalo Schifrin, you have more than half the movies in my collection.

Also composed the memorable score for John Carpenter’s 1982 version of “The Thing”. Haunting....

One of my favourite composers of all time.
The GBU was one I listened to over and over again as a little girl. My parents had it on vinyl from a compilation of Western themes.
As I got older, I found so much more from him that I loved.
I found this one just a few months back:

Thanks, Ennio. You were truly so gifted. A genius at what you did.
Thank you for the many hours of enjoyment. Thanks for helping me to feel things.
The wonderful thing about Ennio...there is still so much by him to discover.

RIP. One of the very last of the composer giants of the 20th century.
