Saw it the other day and loved it! A new way to tell the story and has inspired me to get a couple books on Alexander Hamilton. He is one founding father I haven’t researched much.

Ron Chernow, author of “Alexander Hamilton,” advised Miranda on the historical content of the play. You might like that book.

Haven’t seen the play, but I I taught my 7th graders about the Hamilton/Jefferson split in Washington’s cabinet. Jefferson is/was nearly universally praised as Founding Father, and Hamilton, except for being on the $10 bill and being killed by VP Burr is pretty much forgotten.

But Hamilton saw the future of the U.S. more accurately than Jefferson. Hamilton saw us as a nation of business and eventually industry. That’s why he convinced Washington to honor our debts. Jefferson’s vision was of a nation of small-farmer yeomen working the land.
