Castelmola is s great place to visit, if nothing else than for the drive up to it. A rollercoaster ride has nothing on that circuitous route up to the top, out of Taormina. The castle above the town is interesting, but small. Visiting the bar/restaurant across the piazza, and getting a table on the rooftop for an espresso is a photographer's dream. The view is heavenly...

Speaking of castles...Erice is good place to visit for a very fine, very real castle...almost fairytale.
