The McCloskey home looks like a castle. If it were me, I'd secure all vulnerable points of the structure downstairs, install perimeter lighting / cameras, personnel obstacles, invite a few family members and or close friends...then set up on the 2nd floor/balcony's with optics.

Might as well build a moat round the castle and fill it with good ole giant, mean, hungry Nile crocodiles.
