well, the Solutreans might have reached the Americas, but today’s Europeans were living in the Ukrainian steppes at the time, so unless you are a Basque, I wouldn’t get excited about it.

Basques are among today’s Europeans. But I get your point about the later migration of Indo-European speakers having not taken place at that time. That doesn’t make it any less interesting.

Indo-European is a linguistic group, but it doesn’t tell the story of DNA. Mexicans in the interior speak Spanish but may have little or no European blood. There are few languages left in Europe that predate the Indo-Europeans (Basque being one) but the genetic makeup of Europe has a significant portion that is from those who were there when the Indo-Europeans arrived. So, Solutrians may well be closely related to people living today in coastal Spain and France.
