RE: They did, and its a blessing since she would have been in a wheel chair by now if they had not did it.
This made my day. It looks like we still have hospitals that remember that their main reason for existence is to HEAL patients.
FYI. We went to Mao, to Marshfield, even to the surgeon in Sun City AZ who does the joint work for Major league baseball players. NOT ONE would touch her. Marquette General-Marquette MI would have done it but they wanted to break up all her femur and reconstruct it.
Went to Henry Ford and the Ortho surgeon said let me think on this. The next day he called her in and said I got an idea and it’ll work.
They had to cut off a chunk of the stem from the ball section to fit it in the femur.
When she was a kid, she broke her leg and the quack doctors back then let it heal overlapped and never set it. So the bone is twisted as well as crooked.
Best dam place I ever seen for things like that. And BTW, that surgery made a major publication for Orthopedic surgery and that Doctor got recognized for his work about that. My sister-in-law says they still talk and teach about that sugery.
I got the pics of them doing the work on that stem and the X-ray and all. The tools they use look just like a bushing kit you’d use for valve stem work on a engine head. I KID YOU NOT.
