1/ I sometimes ask students what their position on slavery would have been had they been white and living in the South before abolition. Guess what? They all would have been abolitionists! They all would have bravely spoken out against slavery, and worked tirelessly against it.
2/ Of course, this is nonsense. Only the tiniest fraction of them, or of any of us, would have spoken up against slavery or lifted a finger to free the slaves. Most of themand uswould have gone along. Many would have supported the slave system and happily benefited from it.
3/ So I respond by saying that I will credit their claims if they can show evidence of the following: that in leading their lives today they have stood up for the rights of unpopular victims of injustice whose very humanity is denied, and where they have done so knowing:
4/ (1) that it would make them unpopular with their peers, (2) that they would be loathed and ridiculed by powerful, influential individuals and institutions in our society; (3) that they would be abandoned by many of their friends, (4) that they would be called nasty names, and (5) that they would risk being denied valuable professional opportunities as a result of their moral witness.
In short, my challenge is to show where they have at risk to themselves and their futures stood up for a cause that is unpopular in elite sectors of our culture today.
When are people going to learn, it’s those in all the universities who are driving, producing and directing the riots, looting and arson, protest and anti-American descent.
In other words, profess yourself to be a Christian and state that Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior, that he is the Son of God, and that he died for our sins.
Nailed it. Im stealing that and using it often
Would they wear a MAGA hat?
This doesnt work. These people are fully trained to think theyre victims every time they express their feelings!
They will respond:
I would threaten to stab all people who say all lives matter and would be ready to lose my job at Deloitte.
Abolitionist then.
=
QAnon today.

They will respond:
I would threaten to stab all people who say all lives matter and would be ready to lose my job at Deloitte.
I guess the obvious response to that is “All lives matter.” And stand there looking at them.
How DARE you force them to honestly assess their holier than thou attitude! LOL.
I actually love the exercise. Making young skulls full of mush actually be forced to face up to the pablum their education feeds them is great.
I wish I’d had someone like that in my educational past!
That last point seems to be describing Christians.
I have often thought about things like this. For instance, traditional marriage. Even 10 to 20 years ago, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama supported the traditional definition of marriage and did not believe there could be a homosexual marriage. A man and a woman has been the definition for 8000 or so years and yet the 20 somethings of today know what is best for us all, more than the billions of people who came before them.
Those prior people, all over the earth, were “unenlightened and ignorant.” Only now, for the last 10 or so years, have we been doing it right.
