Wonder when the schools stopped teaching the War of 1812 as a significant part of American History? I graduated in 1976 (bi-centennial addition) and don't recall spending much time on the war of 1812. I did know about Dolly Madison and about the Star Spangled Banner. Didn't now about the Impressed Sailors.
