You make some good points there.
I have a relative who was a senior executive in the banking biz. At one point in his career he took a job in D.C. and moved there. Whenever I’d see him afterwards he’d remark about the difficult time he had keeping his banks staffed because people in D.C. had a moral fungibility that was unlike anything he’d ever seen in any other market.
Trump should have recruited the Red States
(though I suspect most of us wouldn’t want to move to the Swamp).
Possibly worse. I remember hearing a radio interview with David Schippers (House Impeachment Prosecutor) during the Clinton impeachment days. He said he found such a pervasive evil cloud over D.C. that he and his wife (both devout Cathlics) took to wearing devotional scapulars under their clothing.
His comments have stayed with me all these years.
