Exactly.
They knew first hand how hard it was to work the land and the risks involved in it. The industrial revolution was kicking off and offering a lot more secure money for workers than any farming effort would have provided at the time. They voluntarily left in droves for those new jobs.
This crap is just like reparations....they really have no legitimate claim.
And anyone who supports, or falls for this line of BS, is ignorant and utterly stupid.

The Industrial Revolution “kicked off” 150 years prior.

Farm mechanization was kicking off in the 20s with the advent of large gasoline tractors and much improved and larger implements.
