That’s the thing about Fred MacMurray. Terrific actor, one of my favorites. What’s interesting about him is he had - in a way - two careers. The first where he played many questionable types, including what I call his “Unholy Trinity” - Double Indemnity, The Caine Mutiny, and The Apartment. He’s a real A-hole in all 3 movies.

Then he hooks up with Disney and does all that “Flubber” stuff, does the show “My Three Sons” and completely reinvents himself as wholesome “America’s Dad”.

Pretty wild.
