I like the mac hardware but not the OS. I have a mac that can boot into windows 10. If they move to ARM, guessing that option goes away. I have an 11 year old mac that is still going strong. It’s outlived many other desktops and laptops. I did swap out the hard drive, but that’s all I’ve had to do.
Theyre moving to ARM but Intel Macs wont become obsolete for years. My guess is theyll be supported for at least five to ten years.
Forv me, two best companies are Apple and Lenovo. My Thinkpad is still running strong.
I suppose that, to Apple, that's a problem.
Maybe they can push an update that slows it down?
No from what I gleaned virtualization was going to be built in. In fact everything they showed yesterday seemed to be running on ARM processors natively. Looks way too much like iOS with the upgraded interface to suit me. The started making everything in pale text fonts no clear lines marking binderies as soon as the NEXT people came on board. I would rather have the old OS 9 look than the sissified look they have today. White keyboards with pale white text marked on them is not popular with old geezers, have to use an overlay, since the refuse to make a ini space grey keyboard like the offer on the Mac Books. Oh Well just another thing that I have absolutely no power to change added to an even bigger list from the past that I could not change.
