They had tiny bells. Now they are going to upgrade to large cowbells.
Maybe after the next bear chews off his left arm he will upgrade to large caliber bells.

I would go armed with more some walking poles, but he has enough tough to get up and walk back down the trail and to pose for pictures in a bloody tee-shirt.
(Nah, just a flesh wound. Some peroxide and bandages and I’ll be fine!)
That’s three US bear attacks in three days. (Two Black, one Grizzly). And that’s just the attacks reported here.
