Ask your State Department of Health. Ask the CDC. Follow the links on the websites. They publish the numbers.
If you have specific questions, file a FOIA at the state or federal level.

Most COVID-19 illness and deaths are Nursing Home and elderly related. You might ask for a breakdown of statistics by month for the past 6 years for Nursing Homes. They are just now coming in. The government moves slowly.

A state agency runs Medicaid in its state. Many in Nursing Homes are on Medicaid. You can ask for statistics for the past 6 years on them.

Ask intelligent, well thought out statistical questions. Not wife-beating questions.

My sarcasm was directed at Dr. Fauci, not you.

In fact, I remember one article I read a month or two ago that claimed as of that point in early spring, there were a lot less pneumonia and flu deaths than normal... the implication being that many people that might have been in those classifications were swept up into the COVID count. After all, even George Floyd was found to have been infected in his autopsy.
