My favorite Aretha Franklin song is Obama’s favorite; the one that says “R-S-P ... something ... something” because it’s such an American classic. She was such a great talent, as were the writers and musicians behind her. Obama botching R-E-S-P-E-C-T was just confirmation that he has never been an American.
