FWIW...

Transmission routes of Covid-19 virus in the Diamond Princess Cruise ship

After cabin quarantine looks like spread was due to crew and fomites. Though I'm thinking the latter not so much.

Then again, a different view, though you'd never know from the title...

Airborne route and bad use of ventilation systems as non-negligible factors in SARS-CoV-2 transmission

I feel for the cruise industry. They are well and truly screwed.

“After cabin quarantine looks like spread was due to crew and fomites. Though I’m thinking the latter not so much.”

Thanks, it would be

I read through the study - they didn’t get all the available information (maybe they didn’t ask), but I agree that it looks less like the recirculated air and more like people being packed together. Same conclusion for me though, I’ll let others be the guinea pigs if this business restarts!

“Our estimation method is not without limitations. We cannot rule out the possibility of other infections during later part of the quarantine period due to incomplete data. Among the 634 cases confirmed by Feb 20, though 328 were asymptomatic, 306 were symptomatic at the time of confirmation. However, only 197 of the 306 symptomatic individuals had onset date, and further data from the remaining 109 symptomatic individuals may change our prediction.”
