A beautiful song that overshadows what was once a beautiful city.
That came out in 1969, just before the “McGovern Depression” in the early ‘70’s when cutbacks in the aerospace industry stimulated by Sen. George McGovern (D-SD) and other liberals in Congress brought on hard times and high unemployment in Washington State.
I think WI’s Proxmire was the lead on attacking the aerospace industry.
One of the “jokes” at the time was that NASA made a big mistake not designing rockets to run on dairy products.
My gosh, that song is terrible. No wonder I’ve never heard of it. Sounds like my church music group.
