How do I say this in a polite way?
My son has a business where he builds computers from scratch and not the ready-made PCs from a store.
His personal computer that he made from scratch was a top of the line AMD PC. He had his picture taken with the rep from AMD and was published two months ago.
“My son”, paid $1,100 for his computer and now it was worth more than $4,000. We got the parts before the prices exploded. He ranks his PC in accordance with others in the world and is ranked in the top 15%. My son is like the old-time mechanic that constantly tunes his baby and makes sure she is performing at the best.
We have at least 30 laptops and PCs in our house that are operational at this moment.
We are nerds!
I like that!
I haven’t bought a pre-built computer since my very first one back in 1996...after using many diff 386 and 486 i believe my brand new PENTIUM cost over $3000 dollars with a nice monitor included....
Been building my own ever since.
Getting ready for my next rebuild...it’s been at least 5 years now....4 years on the crappy but very nice looking 960 vid card.
Gonna buy a new monitor this time as well..
Learned the same lesson when i was 17 and needed a new fuel pump on my sweet 78 Camaro.
$130.00 DOLLARS? You got to be kidding me!
Besides a steering rack on my old Supra i have NEVER paid a penny to any mechanic since.
Fix it all my self now and help out others as well..
