He's had months to change that text to reflect reality. However, he doesn't want to post that he is actively driving the destruction of our economic growth, employment and quality of life across the board.
The end is not in sight. Keeping us from work, school, church, and life in general clears the field where "protesters" get to take center stage.
Newsom is purposefully ignoring the medical data: there is no second wave, studies prove that asymptomatic spread of Covid-19 is rare, masks fail to prevent virus transmission, masks increase illness(es), social distancing is not beneficial.
The lockdown/riots are designed to control the public. They are utilizing tactics known to topple governments and are key to Dems strategy for stealing the elections. There's no other way they can get their horror-show candidate in office in 2020.
For Deep State strategic purposes, the lockdown, destruction of our economy, denial of surgery and other medical health services, and invasive contact tracing will continue until 1) "morale improves" or 2) their destructive Dem candidate manages to steal the election, or 3) their riots provide sufficient cover to convince the U.N. it's time for their concerted effort to "intervene".
The U.N. is holding urgent meetings now to discuss the important issues of racial injustice and police brutality in the US and "other places" (i.e., our allies, including Boris Johnson, England are witnessing the same Covid-19/Police brutality protests at the same time. Coincidence?) I hope all FReepers are aware of the meaning behind this important development, and how it serves the Deep State coup effort.
I started to look for the ways in which Governors can be recalled or otherwise removed from office. The first (useless) article I found was from a hard left website that serves up talking points for Dems. That website states that 5 governors were under recall threat as of August 2019 (yeah, Newsom was on that list BEFORE the riots and lockdowns!). The article urges us to note that the changes of the recall getting on the ballot are unlikely, and even more unlike that Newsom would actually be recalled.
But a few months ago, I would have said complete lockdown of our state, the dissolution of the LA Police Department, and the safe spaces afforded insurrectionists (ANTIFA) would be unlikely.
I don't know where we stand in relation to the deadline to get a recall on the ballot. If the date has passed, we have to think of something else to get him out of office (his actions are not lawful - there's a starting point).
If he had a real army, Gavin Newsom would have used it, as would the other deep state actors locking down states/cities and giving support to insurrectionists. They are currently using their violent insurrectionists to build the power they glean from fear: fear of illness, fear of arrest for opening your business during lockdown, fear of riots, fear of being called a racists, fear of being driven from whatever employment is left through contact tracing/riots/accusations of racism/fear of being accused of not supporting ACTBLUE, the Dems front group which collects donations made to Black Lives Matter.
We have to choose between fear and our future - the future that Gavin Newsom lies about on our state's webpage.
There are many ways to resist. We must discover them and resist every way we can or THIS LIFE we're living right now becomes the "new normal", as liar Fauci and others are always insisting.
As 'Governor Fear' writes on our state's website, "California's values aren't just a point of pride; they are the very fabric of our state's history and our future."
The lockdown and contact tracing continues until we say "Stop!"

Maybe they should first address the Muslim countries that routinely turn a blind eye to honor killings, throwing gays off of buildings and encourage terrorists groups to use them as bases for their operations.
One could argue that Newsome does in fact have a standing army:ANTIFA.

Agreed. The Deep STate uses Antifa for assassinations (e.g., Seth Rich) and other dirty work, and of course riots.
But Antifa alone couldn’t control all Californians and steal the election for Trump. If Antifa was large enough and sufficiently well equipped, they would enforce martial law and fake votes wherein the Dem candidate would win 110% of the votes. But if they were large enough to do that - they would have to content with the US military (OOOH RAH!).
Instead, Newsom wield fear(s).
They are simply attempting to force their liberal citizens to move away from the lockdowns to a sane state.
Once there, these liberals will vote the exact same way they did previously, thus finally removing Republicans from government once and for all.
