IMPLEMENTING BEST PRACTICES: President Donald J. Trump is taking historic action to increase the adoption of best practices in law enforcement and support a safe and secure America.
- President Trump is issuing a new Executive Order that will encourage law enforcement agencies to implement best practices and protect the communities they serve.
- Our law enforcement officers provide critical protection to all Americans, and we need to work collectively to strengthen relationships across our country.
- Under the Order, the Attorney General will allocate certain grant funding to only those law enforcement agencies that meet high standards, including around use-of-force and de-escalation, as credentialed by reputable independent bodies.
- The Order provides incentives for law enforcement agencies to use a nationwide database to track terminations, criminal convictions, and civil judgments against law enforcement officers for excessive use-of-force, which will create accountability between agencies.
- The Administration will prioritize training and other programs for police and social workers responding to incidents involving the mentally ill, addicted, and homeless.
- President Trump is directing his Administration to develop and propose new legislation to Congress to further the policies of the Order and build community engagement.
UNITING AMERICAN COMMUNITIES: President Trump is taking action to unite our Nation and ensure safer communities for all Americans.
- Every day, law enforcement officers make great sacrifices to keep our citizens safe.
- Last year alone, 89 law enforcement officers were killed in the line of duty.
- In 2018, our police arrested nearly 12,000 people for murder and manslaughter, 25,000 people for rape, and nearly 1.5 million for assault.
- The overwhelming majority of the law enforcement community bravely perform their duties with integrity and honor.
- Close ties between law enforcement and their communities are important in all communities.
- President Trump’s Order seeks to redouble our efforts as a Nation to engage directly with our neighbors and secure lasting relationships across all communities.
KEEPING AMERICANS SAFE: President Trump is improving fairness and equality in our criminal justice system, while keeping our communities safe.
- President Trump has led the way on groundbreaking criminal justice reform, taking a smart-on-crime approach to make our communities safer.
- The President brought together a broad coalition including law enforcement, faith groups, community organizations, and more to support the First Step Act.
- The President established the Presidential Commission on Law Enforcement and the Administration of Justice, examining how to improve community relations between the public and law enforcement.
- President Trump revitalized Project Safe Neighborhoods to help reduce violent crime in communities all around the country.
- Thanks to the President’s efforts, both the violent crime rate and murder rate in America have fallen for two consecutive years.

Sounds like reactionary BS and caving. POTUS is better suited dealing with the country’s borders.

No. Trump is telling the left that they are winning and to continue.
For the first time I shut Trump off today.

Whenever the Left thinks they have an opening on Trump such as by linking Trump to bad cops and making him look anti black, Trump quickly moves to neutralize that advantage. He’s made a few other moves like this before. Great tactician.

Trump is making solid moves to hold on to his small but not insignificant black base.

Many on this forum, myself included have criticized the fact that law enforcement doesn’t police its own ranks and that bad cops get away with their bad actions, while the so-called good cops do nothing.
This action by Trump is good for all of us. Bad cops will now get tagged and agencies will be held accountable. Isn’t that what many of us have sought?

Yep. He really misses the mark on this one. Is he better than Biden? Yes! BY MILES.
However, it appears my friends, NOBODY is willing to stand up to the mob or for us. NOBODY.

I’ve heard from more than a few cops that most bad cops are disciplined or gotten rid of. Departments run by bad chiefs, especially those in Demshevik states and cities, may very well have more of a problem.
Listening to Trump’s speech is the best way to know exactly what he said and I hope people do give it a listen.

Did you listen to Trump?
What do you mean by “NOBODY is willing to stand up to the mob or for us. NOBODY.”
Do you mean that Trump hasn’t sent NG to the rioting areas, even though the Demshevik governors don’t want them? Or something else?

Absolutely. And not to forget all the family pets that have fallen to bad cops. A dog barks at a cop a couple of times and the cop puts a couple of bullets into it and walks away scot-free.

What is NG?
All I know I would be pretty pissed off if I was being held captive in my home (in CHAZ) and my governor was doing crap about it and my president was threatening to do something about it but he ultimately did crap about it too. After also doing nothing about evil bastards trying to overthrow a duly elected government. Trump sounded stale and emotionless today. He’s awful reading a prepared speech and it hasn’t changed since he’s been in office. I don’t think he listens to anyone and it’s going to cost us our country( except maybe his liberal daughter) Yes I will vote for Trump but I’m not happy at all with him.

Yeah, what a bunch of crap. This is the equivalent of telling someone to wipe after going to the bathroom.

National Guard.
In order to deploy NG within a state, the Governor has to request the NG.
Can you imagine the blowback if Trump ordered the NG into Washington state against the governor’s wishes? If this persists Trump may use some other constitutional means and likely will.
Sounds as though you have some burrs under the saddle, “Liberal daughter”? And “he doesn’t listen to anyone”?
Oh well, I guess a living saint as president would not live up to your expectations.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Then why the hell did he say that he was going to stop it if the governor did not???
It wasn’t some 3D chess. It was empty bluster which to me has become his signature. We’ve been on defense since the day he took office and he still is not taking control of anything. His Supreme Court picks are turning out to be liberal and I sure know I’m not alone when I say I am very pissed off. I will vote for him but now, where I used to think he was going to really go to town on the left when he got re-elected, I now think if he gets re-elected he’s going to actually turn more liberal.
