In the US they are Cocoa Krispies and use the same Snap, Crackle, and Pop characters for both cereals.

Apparently that wasn't always the case. We had a monkey called Jose when it was introduced in '58, Tusk the elephant in the '70s. We even had Coco the monkey during the Clinton era!
