Here's the Miami Herald's account of the embarrassment: The 10 members of the Hallandale Beach Police Departments SWAT team have stepped down from their roles, citing among other grievances anger over the citys police chief kneeling with protesters earlier this week, a memo the officers signed read. They will remain with the police department. So there umbrage only goes so far. They didn't quit entirely just from part of their duties. So why does a suburb with a population of 37,000 need a SWAT team for anyway?
