Years ago, a neighbor had Dish but let a cloud pass over and it went out. The service may have improved since then.

Only in the worst of rainstorms did I ever lose the satellite signal. I had DirecTV. When I did have cable (Cable One), it went out daily. I live in New Mexico, and by storms, I mean stuff that will flood our arroyos and wash people away. Rain so heavy you can’t see the house across the street. Oh, and once in a blue moon the snow would fill it. But that was easily remedied from the ground with a broom. Haven’t had cable or satellite since 2016.
