The purpose of the flood was to cleanse the planet of all the ‘altered species’ AND the Nephilim.
Yes, I didn’t mean to leave out the other “altered species,” I think that is why many different “animals,” never got on the ark. They were also destined to be wiped out, right along with the Nephilim. 😁
