Part of the Insurrection Act is that the federal government can step in where state and local governments fail to act, in order to preserve citizens' "Equal protection under the law" guaranteed under Amendment XIV of the Constitution.
What it seems we learned last week is that they don’t have to make a big deal out of the Insurrection Act, they can just send the military wherever they are needed, and they’re covered under the act, as long as they duly order the crowd to disperse. Formerly called Reading Out the Riot Act.
It appears all eyes are on the circus going on in Seattle, but is it a diversion to take attention away from the “new form of protection” in Minneapolis? They are moving at a fast pace.
