If POTUS would come out in favor of pot legalization, and leniency for low-level drug offenders already convicted, he would probably end the riots and pick up MANY millions of votes.
I was told this in a gathering of young people who are not Trump supporters ... but not druggies either.
With the justice reform that Trump has already done, many low level drug offenders were released. How many states still charge mj users (not dealers) with felony and prison time? I doubt many states do that.
Drug legalization is not, afaik, wildly popular. Hardcore libertarians want ALL drugs legalized, and many people think that legalizing mj federal opens the door for all drugs. Which would be a terrible thing.
PS - I seriously doubt that riots would be dented in the least or that he would gain millions of votes, either.
