Choke or neck restraint is contraindicated if the subject may have excited delirium. So is prone positioning (on face/stomach). Both have a high correlation with fatal ExD events.

Restaint is absolutely necessary in the case of “wooden chest” symptom to save the overexcited individual’s life.
