My understanding is that he was complaining that he “couldn’t breathe” long before anyone put a knee on him. And the autopsy says no physical injury was the cause of death.
And the knee to the neck was acceptable police procedure.
And the reason they were waiting was because they were waiting for an ambulance.
So, though it “looked like” the officer was killing him (and yes, it looked that way to me as well), that may not be what was actually happening.
The facts will come out in a court of law. But if this turns out like the Rodney King beating trial, there will be a lot of bad Juju going down afterward.
“And the knee to the neck was acceptable police procedure.”
You’d be okay with it if it were someone you love being held down like that until they died?
It’s acceptable procedure, right? Nothing personal. They’re just going to pile on to your loved one because it’s what they do and if your son/brother/father dies then that’s just too bad.
That would also make a great epitaph: “It was acceptable police procedure”
I’m not going to conclude either way, and that why it is up to a jury to make the call. Unfortunately the mob wants to lynch the 4 cops.
