One can certainly have a zinc deficiency. Maybe the population tested in this study have normal, not deficient, levels of zinc. Maybe, with our standard american diet, we are zinc deficient. Just an idea why we would need supplementation and other groups may not.

Thanks for your reply and certainly we are zinc deficient.

This treatment regimen depends on available free Zn++ ions which are not stored anywhere in the body. As soon as you eat it you use it and lose it. The available zinc for this curative function must be continually replenished.
