Retired at a rank less than E6 usually equates to medical retirement.
If he has all limbs, can stand for long periods etc, that means possibly a psyche situation. I know of several junior enlisteds retired in similar situations. Irks me. The services do no good giving Mulligan’s, kids need help to get back on the horse, taste life and work hard, not be reaffirmed in some defective mindset.
Not saying combat stresses are not real (I know). In my experience, Fobbits are the ones usually found in such status. The actual Warriors embrace life with all it’s harsh realities.
