they aren’t convincing anyone with a brain they have any moral superiority by violence and looting and rioting.

Anyone over 40 in any country must be shocked. It’s like rewarding children nationwide having a tantrum instead of discipline them.
While I understand there’s a lot going on behind the scenes. There are still a lot of young /hormonal teenagers/young adults having meltdowns.
