I have to take issue with your CV meme, Easy.

Actually, those same US, WWII D-Day veterans, still living and some in their 90s, face worse odds of dying if they catch CV than they did in storming Omaha Beach.

Omaha Beach (U.S.) 34,250 of which 2,000 died (5.8%)

Not “*my* Meme, but don’t fall into the trap of calling deaths per cases the “Death Rate”.

Use “Per Capita” instead.

(few of the Memes there are actually mine, see the About page.)

Sorry Karen

Easy has it correct.

The meme is directed at snowflakes

==========+=======

Apples and oranges.  The guys wading ashore on June 6, 1944 would have been every bit as resistant to the Wuflu as the 19-to-20-year-olds of today.  Of course those same vets, now in their 90s and enfeebled by age, are going to be more vulnerable.

The comparison in the meme is young people in the prime of life from the different generations, not asking 90 year olds to go out to work.

The meme pretty clearly makes a distinction between 20 year olds in `WWII and 20 year olds today.

Excellent point! Would be a dank meme!

I think it is important enough that I must point out, again, that calling
“deaths per cases” the “death rate” is perfectly meaningless, but quite
intentionally bogus psy-op driven Fear Porn.

Don’t do that.

We have no idea what the number of cases actually is. The upper limit is the number of the population.

The only meaningful way to calculate the “Death Rate”, is to divide the population by the number of WuFlu deaths. That puts you much closer to a “Real” death rate of somewhere in the neighborhood of 0.1% for the whole
population, or you can break the numbers of the deaths AND the population #s down by age...

But using imaginary numbers like # of cases, well, that makes one a fear porn pushing “Karen”. (Something to be studiously avoided!)
