We got ours, but our 21 year old didnt get his yet. He filed in January and had his 2019 refund check sent to him by snail mail. I think that is what the holdup is. He did try to put bank info into the IRS website when it was allowed to do so, but the website wouldnt cooperate
Glad to read the responses on this thread that he isnt the only one waiting, and that hopefully his refund is only weeks away.
I don’t file electronically because I don’t have anything to claim...no interest, no stocks, bonds. I don’t own anything, and I always get a refund. To me it’s a bigger pain in the ass doing my taxes on line, than on paper. My pension and social security checks are direct-deposited. I was surprised I got my money so quick after I provided my checking account number to them, although they already had it with my SS deposits.
Yep, filed a paper return and am still waiting. Went to the IRS link that claims you can check on the status of your return and it says it can’t tell me.
We received ours last week.
Yes..
Will wait until my next SS maybe come in then???
I have an EIN though it all ties into my SS# and also have an ‘apostrophe’ in my name which does tend to screw up a lot of things.
OOOPS
Not only didn’t read the whole article, DIDN’T even read the question..
My response as you may well guess is to the ‘stimulus check’..
Sorry
I had been using a DIY Excel worksheet for about 15 years, starting around 1998, but went to TurboTax around 2015 because of the ease of use. I used to deduct state income tax, real estate tax, and mortgage interest, for about $30,000k which was a pain in the neck.
With the Trump tax cuts my taxes are lower and my returns are simpler. What’s not to like?
Filed electronically at the end of February, still waiting on refund.
If you get a plain envelope, like we did about a week ago, with a return name & address, that reads:
Money Network Cardholder Services
PO Box 247022
Omaha, NE 68124-7022
DO NOT THROW IT AWAY.
I almost did, because it looks like junk mail.
It is your Stimulus Payment via a debit card.
Forbes has a good article on how to use it and avoid fees:
That is all.
Still waiting. Tried to e-file but kept getting an error. Ended up mailing a paper return in early March, but the IRS considered the people that process those to be “non-essential”. I suppose one of these days they’ll get around to it.
Some friends received a debit card, not a check. They thought it was a scam and threw it away.
I kind of thought you meant paper. For some reason, our accountant thought that e-filing was more secure a few years ago, so weve been doing it that way, and it has worked out for us. Is there a way to check online to see if theyve mailed it to you? They probably havent because of CoVid. I think things are significantly slowed down. Ours was done late February, and we got our check probably just before the SHTF, very early March.
Thanks for that
I also filed in February and received my refund in 2 weeks.
You’re welcome!
:)
I received a debit card last week. Very convenient. Can use it to get cash, make a payment at a store, request a check, or transfer money to another account. I went online and requested a transfer (no charge) to my bank account. The transfer appeared in my account in two days.
