Bill Belichick’s silence becomes conspicuous
Yahoo ^ | June 5, 2020 | Mike Florio

In this historic moment, there is no middle ground. The choices are to support the notion of equality, liberty, and justice for all, or not to. Patriots cornerback Stephon Gilmore, the 2019 NFL defensive player of the year, left no doubt regarding his position on the matter, given his involvement in the powerful and moving video produced by several prominent NFL players. So where does his boss stand? The question of Patriots coach Bill Belichick’s silence has been raised by Tom Curran of NBC Sports Boston. At a time when more and more coaches are speaking out in compelling fashion (including a pair of former Belichick lieutenants, Brian Flores and Bill O’Brien), Belichick remains quiet.

I wonder if the NFL isn’t in the twilight of its career?

It is for me. I haven’t watched a game in years, and don’t plan to start anytime soon.

You have the right to remain silent in all matters.

Mark, if you think that it is bad now. The worse has yet to hit. Next year, the best will be worse than the worse will be this year. And it will continue until we self destruct or right ourselves. I see no foundation[s[ being laid for righting. I see plenty of evidence for continued self destruction. Pull your belts tight and hang on. You [we] are in for a rough ride.

Sorry, Allegedly one bad cop.

My wife was reading to me over the weekend that the cop in question AND George Floyd knew each other from working together at some bar/nightclub. That there may be more to this whole thing than a fake $20 bill. That these other cops may be involved too.

Anyone else know anything about this?

In a Democrat-Run City, in a Democrat-Run State. But it's MY Fault, for voting for Trump.

Nobody hates Belichicken more than me, but the guy is just totally no BS. He’s about football and little else and his focus on it is laser like. This is just a part of their idiotic “white silence is violence” bile. Just because somebody doesn’t want to wade into the issue doesn’t mean anything, and yet they leap to idiotic conclusions. Frankly their entire movement is rotten to the core and needs destroyed

Belichick’s response should be “ My job is to coach. I don’t get involved in political discussions.”

That is, in fact, the perfect response for everybody in the business world (and professional football IS a business).

Corporations that virtue signal make me sick to my stomach. Just produce your product and sell it to us at a good price. That's all I ask.

I will go out of my way to avoid doing business with companies and businesspeople that get political.

Not anymore, "Silence is Violence". It's getting to the point where you don't even have to say something racist on Social Media, not saying anything at all, will be treated as if you said something they deemed to be racist.
