Through my ongoing conversations with friends, teammates, and leaders in the black community, I realize this is not an issue about the American flag. It has never been. We can no longer use the flag to turn people away or distract them from the real issues that face our black communities.
We did this back in 2017, and regretfully I brought it back with my comments this week. We must stop talking about the flag and shift our attention to the real issues of systemic racial injustice, economic oppression, police brutality, and judicial & prison reform. We are at a critical juncture in our nation’s history! If not now, then when?
We as a white community need to listen and learn from the pain and suffering of our black communities. We must acknowledge the problems, identify the solutions, and then put this into action. The black community cannot do it alone. This will require all of us.

I had a lot of respect for that. He initially wasn’t making a deal of it himself, he just wasn’t going. It was a private thing, but there is no way the media would let it stay that way.
At least, that is how I remember it.
Very obvious this was a set up since his initial interview. He’s in on it with the NFL and media. The purpose is to get your average white guy who is a causal observer to think it’s normal to hate the flag.

I wonder how the black athletes like Charles Barkley, Joe Horn, Marcus Davenport and a few of the others who came out in defense of him, feel about him now. He's made them look like fools.
It is so funny. Did Drew grow up rich? I grew up in a broken home, all white. Not a day goes by that I blame “the system” for my problems. Hell, I could have had a drug problem, but thankfully I didn’t. Never smoking. Did mess with weed once in awhile as an adult. Of course, alcohol as most of us do. But, growing up poor is not an excuse to committ crimes. Ah yes, I forgot that all blacks are innocent/s. I guess we can’t mention the fact of not committing a crime.
