Many American corporations have taken the NFL’s lead, and are using racial-politics and riots for a brand-building and marketing exercise.

It shows how depraved and disgustingly low they are.

Tiger now Drew, I appreciate them coming out with some sane thoughtful remarks.

Drew could retired after his Super Bowl win and his place in Canton would be secure.

He always was a good man, one of the few in a league that has become utterly corrupt.

He should have been playing back in the day when we had really tough QBs like Johnny Unitas.

Kind of explains why you’re a class act.

And I’m a Seahawks fan!

I’ve been upset with Drew a couple of times over somewhat recent behavior of The Saints, which is my team and has been since I was a boy, but it seems like he a very good and very decent man, and I appreciate his comments here.

Thanks for responding to my post.

Just consider the environment Drew has to function in.

Personally, most of the football I watch these days is You Tube clips from the NFL’s Golden Age of the 50s and 60s.

Talk about tough quarterbacks — you didn’t want to mess with Bobby Layne or Norm Van Brocklin. Layne was known to down a couple at halftime, and the Dutchman had something of a mean streak.

Otto Graham was tough but also a straight-arrow kind of guy, kind of like Drew.

Drew’s grandfather Ray Akins, who served in the Marine Corps in WWII, was our high school football coach here in South Texas. His story was part of the movie Hacksaw Ridge. He was the winningest high school football coach in Texas history.

But he was also a yellow dog Texas democrat, as was his daughter Mina Brees (Drew’s mother) and his son Marty Akins (Drew’s uncle). In fact when Mina ran for public office in Austin as a democrat, she used Drew’s likeness on her campaign material, and he had to sue her to remove it. Marty was a perennial wannnabe for Texas governor, also as a democrat.
