In advance, I apologize for the Vanity Post - but I did want to take a minute to gauge Freeper opinion on recent developments. This thread is a bit long but please read it.
We've had the COVID-19 scare for quite some time now. It has had a negative effect on this nation, economically and socially.
Combine that with the recent rioting in many US metro areas (including mine - which has thankfully died down for now) and my question is this...
How do these things bode for President Trump and the GOP in November?
Do the American people rise up and say enough is enough? We need a strong leader to bring this nation back?
In the suburbs, do the soccer moms clutch their pearls and believe all will be well if they vote Dem or they suddenly realize that the rioting could take place in their neighborhoods or that they might have to cut back on soccer camp for little Brianna and little Jason because their husband is out of work?
Do blacks and Hispanics in the inner city suddenly realize that their Dem leaders have more or less tossed them over the side and decide to vote GOP - maybe not in overwhelming numbers but at a better rate than before?
Given the 24/7 media drumbeat has been "Trump Bad, GOP bad, white privilege bad", has the damage been done and we'll soon embark on a sustained period of Dem dominance nationwide?
I'd like your opinions.
We will see the economy recovering rapidly in red states. Trump can say that the blue state Governors are what’s preventing things from coming back more quickly. He can name names, i.e. Whitmer, Walz, Wolf etc.
His position on the riots is a big plus for him, compared to the Democrats almost being in favor of them.
Don’t forget Biden’s China connections and statements about China. I believe they will attack strongly on that.
Therefore, I think he should win.
If they steal or attempt to steal this election the results for them will not be pretty. If all major cities in America riot and destroy over the death of one gangbanger one hates to think of the outcome if the left wins. If they do win it will be by crook and both sides of the political spectrum know this.

The trend favors Trump. It’s rare a party is in the White House for only one term. The only time in our lifetimes was Democrat one-term Carter sandwiched between Republicans. To find the last time that happened you have to go back to the 1896 election.

One problem for the Dems is that their candidate is showing signs of dementia - The debates will highlight this. Trump’s prep team is undoubtedly consulting physicians to see how best to trip up a person in Biden’s fragile state.

In a normal election year, nothing resembling accurate polling occurrs before labor day, because most of the “gettable” voters who don’t follow politics regularly are trying to enjoy summer. We are only a week past memorial day.

I’ll admit, I’ve been pretty steamed over having my personal freedom curtailed by “health professionals” looking only out for New York, knowing they were still crowding onto their mass transit systems and have idiots for leaders, who, to today, are still shut down!
I’ll also admit, I’ve been wondering how long this violence, looting and anarchy was going to be tolerated in this country, when that’s what our President has the sole responsibility for! I understand the President has left it up to the various Governors but after the second night straight of it, it was clear as a bell to me, this was but phase two of the plan to oust the President, after the lockdowns were running out of steam.
Nah, if it wasn’t obvious before, no liberal Governor ever gave a rip about “social distancing” when they are now out posing with the looters, in solidarity!

I’m not a naysayer and am very much a DJT supporter, however . . .
There are three things that, it we are honest and realistic about that could result in a massive (Presidency, Senate AND the House) take over by the Democrats.
1. The media, with its never ending drumbeat of Trump and Republicans bad, Biden and Democrats good.
2. Voter fraud to the nth degree that will occur in very specific (ie: electoral votes) states, that could potentially “give” Biden a landslide electoral win. Of course, someone will have to explain what that means to Joe.
3. The very real possibility that the Democrats along with Antifa and others, move into another phase of terrorism, which of course will be blamed on DJT and the Republicans.
When it comes right down to it, I believe the majority of Americans want law and order above everything else. This will put Trump over the top.
Anyone, who believes that President Trump lost votes because those people are rioting and protesting has severe TSD and other organic brain disorders.
Any who does not believe that every new gun buyer equals a vote for Trump, also has severe TSD and other organic brain disorders.
