Saw Bob Johnson, BET founder on tv last night addressing the reparations issue. His idea is to give every Black a cash settlement. And, he said the receipents Could start businesses, buy property, etc, if you can believe that. Actually, being I know that the money will be almost immediately pissed away by the vast majority I now believe it would be a good idea as it would stimulate the economy and finally put reparations behind us. Of course, Blacks will come out they other side about the same economic place they are now. But, hey, will be a heck of a party. 🥴

This is an interesting thought experiment. I would counter this point in that it would not stimulate the economy (i.e. a large chunk of that money would be spent on drugs and other unhealthy goods and services). And it certainly won't put reparations behind us, because the recipients aren't the ones calling on reparations to begin with. The intelligentsia of the minority left are the ones calling for them, and they won't be permanently appeased. It will be an unending call for "a second, third, fourth stimulous".

Johnson could have thrown out a quadrillion figure, or even said zillion…if would have been no less humorous.
