They market well... they're years behind current technology and have always been.

Who killed serial connections by introducing USB, who killed cd/dvd drives, who killed CRT's? Who builds the CPUs for current Apple Products. Who controls the price of current CPU's?

Intel is falling behind and Apple currently depends on their progress to advance in quantities required. Stand by for ARM to make a difference which will be a bigger problem introducing than the switch from Power PC to Intel did. It is insane for Apple to remain a captive to Intel whims of production.

I agree Apple is over priced and often under performs but when you compare exact comparisons on performance and price Apple often beats their competitors price. Anyone who is willing to tackle the task a strong performer can be built at home far cheaper. There are dozens of Hackintosh forums to help you build such a monster but they will never perform flawlessly through multiple software updates and most people just want a machine that does internet and mail that is all.

I have 2012 Mac minis that do that just fine, they are not game machines but I am in no sense a gamer never have been and I do not use Apple Music ever. I am not a crusader for Apple I just want to use the internet at my leisure, as trouble free as possible and my Apple products do that just fine. I do have a six core i7 Mac mini that out performs my Tricked out 1012 Mac Pro but just because I wanted something that would last me till I don't need one anymore and I am closer to 82 than 81.
