Why do so many of you insist on commenting on something you really dont understand? The pilot calls the ball when he acquires it, about 135 degrees thru his turn to final. Its the first time the angles of the fresnel lens allow him to see it. Its important to the LSO to know that he has acquired the ball, he says something like 231, ball. The LSO acknowledges the transmission by replying, Roger ball.
Why are we - me included - clogging up a Q thread with esoteric naval aviation communications? And if we persist, at least get it right, for Cs sake.
Sorry. I was Army, not Navy, so I’m culturally deprived.
well, Q did bring it up. . . But thanks for reiterating, good explanation.
You mean like human trafficking, air tunnels on Epstein Island, and a thousand other Q things??
We are commenting because we want to figure out what Q referred to and what it means.
Everyone shares their expertise amid much speculation.

Thanks for the explanation of how the term is used.
Now, do you have an opinion of what Q meant, who he spoke to, why he used that term??
Roger, Ball.
What’s my vector, Victor?
Sorry - had to throw in a little nonsense.
Still feeling really good about Trump’s march across Lafayette park to the front of St. Johns. That was Biblical!

Apologies to you and thank you for your service. We were doing our best to explain the Q drops that used those very terms, especially when others were asking what they meant. Xone did a great job in explaining it to non-pilots.
We missed your immediate expertise and fumbled around a bit ourselves, then started to slide beyond that. I’m the guilty one and you have my sincerest apologies for clogging up the thread and for irritating you for so long.
Sureley, I thought call the ball was a volley ball term. Rodger?
Patience Grasshopper......we are not as intelligent as you and we need the learnin
