First of all, Biden announced he had a list of reporters to call on. It was hard, at least for me, to tell whether he was reading the answers, clearly at the end he was not. But could have been given the questions ahead of time.
Yes, the press was very easy on him. Mostly they were questions to set him up to criticize Trump. The only “tough” question was about his cognitive skills - whether he would be willing to take a test.
I was surprised to see him get through the speech & questions without getting confused. He actually did well. However, you can tell he is very slow & a lot of his words are slurred. It’s like talking with an old person at the nursing home. If they don’’t fall asleep in their chair or fall off their chair, you leave saying “the is having a good day today”.
