Wow, you have a fascinating and storied family history! I am a history buff of history of all kinds (from ancient to modern) and one thing that I’ve found is always lost but most fascinating to me (unless memorialized in movies or books) is that every single life has a ‘life story’ to tell. Some are wonderful, some are sad and tragic, some are heroic. For every ten thousand heroes, only one, if that, gets memorialized or recognized. My great grandfather fought in WWI (for the good side lol), and my grandfather fought in WW2 (again for the good side), my son served in Afghanistan. I lived in Toronto, ancaster, Hamilton and Pickering when I was growing up. Thank you so much for your response to my post.
I did a quick google search for the U.S. cities with the most cases of police brutality. Four of the top five are run by Democrats.

I’ve been a history buff as well. I spent many years researching the Civil War, focusing on the black regiments from Massachusetts, hence my screen name mass55th. Several years ago I turned over all my research papers (8 boxes full) on both units, along with other Civil War units that I’d collected along the way, to the National Guard Museum and Archives in Concord, Mass. I didn’t want the stuff to end up in a garbage bin after I died. I’m also interested in British history, Medieval, World War I, and World War II. I had two uncles, one my mother’s brother, and one my father’s brother who served in the Army during WWII. My brother joined the Army in ‘64, and ended up in Vietnam ‘66-67. He passed in 1995 at the age of 51. I’m the last one left in my family. I was the baby. Please thank your son for his service.
Well, I’m in Los Angeles watching the coverage of the riots near my house, and there’s an awful lot of black White Supremacists looting the Nordstrom.
Minnesota Governor Walz is blaming drug cartels for the riots in addition to white supremacists. His tortured logic about why the cartels would be interested in starting riots in Minneapolis begs the question that if the drug cartels have such an interest they must already be active in Minnesota...not a very good comentary on his administration

This is a huge opportunity for Republicans to mount discreet cameras on the streets in Milwaukee, because a vast herd of these wild pigs is going to descend on that city during the Democratic National Convention on Monday August 17 to Thursday August 20. The riots right now are like the preliminaries.
It is going to be a LOT worse than Chicago in 1968.
If Republicans really wanted to stir the pot, they should rent hundreds of buses to haul every radical nut who wants to go, and give them bag lunches.
