“Duck Dynasty” patriarch Phil Robertson revealed yesterday during his “Unashamed” podcast that he has learned he has an adult daughter from an affair he had before he became a Christian.
According to People magazine, sons of Robertson received a letter from a woman named Phyliss, 45, who claimed to be their sister. Phil has four sons - Al, Jase, Jep and Willie.
People reported that during the podcast Al talked about the letter.
"'So basically, it was from a woman who said that by a DNA search, she thinks that dad might be her dad,' Al said, adding that he had ‘dismissed’ the letter at first because the woman’s birthday was after the time Phil had become a Christian in the 1970s.
Phil has previously admitted to being a philander prior to finding Jesus, however, after it appears his daughter was conceived just before he devoted himself to the church."
Phil Robertson married his wife, Kay, in 1966. They are still married.
Al said that a DNA tested showed a 99.9 percent match between his father and Phyliss.
Phil Robertson said he has already met Phyliss and she will be introduced soon on his podcast.
Al Robertson said it was “super awesome” to discover he and his brothers have a sister.
Their program is coming to Fox but will the episodes be new or reruns?
Glad they found each other and that Phil found Jesus. No change of opinion here either.
I agree in general. However, this is an additional reason that he should stop (if he hasn’t already) advising teenage marriage as a smart choice.
I give him credit for not trying to hide it.
We may all know with some certainty who our mothers are, but you can never be sure about the father.
DNA test are exposing some secrets some would wish remain hidden.
Then there are some who get an DNA hoping it shows they are adopted. /humor

Before duck calls, it appears Mr. Robertson was making *uck calls.
This happened in my family. My uncle came back from Vietnam and got a girl pregnant. She did not tell him and married her former boyfriend. The resulting daughter took a dna test as an adult. Surprise! It matched my mom as an aunt. Why? Her mom confessed. Our family gained a fabulous addition.
Ill bet Kay is thrilled.
