The Student Prince Cafe is a great German restaurant in Springfield proper; kinda dark and moody for atmosphere. Showing its age; food is great.

Went to The Big E, every 4 years; now, it’s so crowded, it kinda lost its *fun.*

We’ve fled CT for good, for northern Vermont. Only thing we miss about it, is the seafood, caught fresh from LIS.

You must mean Ted’s Restaurant on Broad St. for steamed burgers. They opened a small place in Cromwell; but its not the same as far as atmosphere, as the original in Meriden.

Best ice cream in CT, is at the UCONN dairy bar. Really.

Edible pizza does NOT exist in Vermont. Heh.

One of the best hot dogs I ever had in my life was at the Old Mason's Home in Wallingford, CT ... really.

Ted's is the most famous for steamed cheeseburgers. I was underwhelmed when I went there. The best steamed cheeseburger I ever had was in Wallingford at the old Colony Donuts location (the distinctive neon sign outlived the business by years). I have never been able to match it.

I am sorry about your pizza crisis. We suffered similarly for years in Rockford, IL, where the crust was cardboard, and the primary seasoning in the sauce was salt. Phoenix has a lot for everybody, and I can get suitable pizza and grinders here.
